Thoughts of LOVE Throughout MY Day...

My mind is Google's illegitimate child, so I stay full of thoughts, quips, anecdotes, proverbs, and a culmination of contemplations, so I dedicate this page to those thoughts of love throughout my day. Things that impress upon my spirit that I'd like to share in hopes it will lift the human spirit.

HERE'S TO LOVE... HERE'S TO US!

Caregivers are on my heart today. Taking care of my 93 years old, 94 next week, grandmother has given me a greater appreciation for those that care for others as a profession and for their loved ones in general. I'm telling y'all it takes everything and some borrowed strength to be present in mind and actions for those that are ailing and in need of our full care and attention. I applaud you and commend you for a thankless job, actually it's not thankless because you are appreciated. If any of you have relatives that are caring for your loved ones, give them a helping hand. Trust me they will appreciate it so much. Here's a site below dedicated to care givers with some helpful tips to destress and rest.

And here are some tips I found from ehow.com

How to Take Care of Yourself while Caring for Others
By braniac, eHow User

Whether in work or home life, many of us hold roles that require us to take care of others. It is important to recognize the consequences of providing care to others without also addressing and tending to our own needs and happiness.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

1
Whether you are a social service worker who hears terrible stories of hardship day in and out, or a care provider to a relative who is no longer independent, it is absolutely crucial that you take care of your own health. You need to take care of yourself first; if you don't, it is unlikely that your own health will maintain.

2
Do what you can to find stress relief for yourself. Be selfish about this; even if the demands of caring for someone else are heavy and plentiful, stress is a real killer and should be treated as such. Stress is directly related to the development of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and an overall weak immune system.

3
When you are a care provider, you will need to work hard to create time for yourself. Again, you need to be selfish about this, but it is important. Start small if you have to, but find time each day that is yours; duty and obligation free.

4
If you are in this care providing situation, assess the situation that you are in. Are you taking on more than is necessary? If you are caring for a dependent family member, are there other relatives who are not carrying their weight? If you do provide counsel or a soft shoulder to troubled clients, can you do so without totally exhausting yourself emotionally? Make sure the situation is one that you can sustain and that is not detrimental to your health.

5
Try hard to find joy in all that you do. Caring for others is a tough job, but there is a positive in every situation. If you are a caregiver, find joy in the fact that you make someone else feel taken care of, watched out for, and healthier. If you provide care to clients who unload their emotional baggage in front of you, you can find joy in the fact that someone trusts you enough to tell you their life story, and give you the opportunity to help make their lives better.

6
As a caregiver, you need to lose the inevitable feeling of not doing enough. Pat yourself on the back for your own compassion and don't fall victim to always thinking that you must do "more".
