How Low Can We Go?.... For That Matter How High?

If you can still access the internet then that means you probably didn't make it in. Hold on, hold on, neither did I. I don't know if you heard, but apparently the Rapture took place today. The Rapture according to the Holy Bible is an event in which ALL BELIEVERS, those who call, repent and believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the living GOD, not the dead one, I must be clear that the god has to be living, and that he was raised from the dead and is returning for his bride, only those that believe all the previous criterion. Boy I'm loaded today... It seems as if there is very little else you have to do to be raptured, depending on which testament you read, OLD or NEW. If it's the OLD, we are all doomed and the NEW has different interpretations for each reader or message giver. I guess if you were a serial killer, child molester, rapist, or practiced beastiality and the many abominations that the Holy Bible references as disqualifications for this FREE Trip, and you repented, confessed your sins a millisecond before this epic event, the RAPTURE, you will get a "GET OUT OF HELL FREE" card. Your confession is uploaded to heaven quicker than Apple's thunderbolt. Cool... Which brings me to what exactly is Heaven and Hell? And does the belief alone grant the trip? Because slavery was built on the Holy Scriptures, and those that profited really, really believed, hence the Civil War, where more lives were lost than all the American Wars to date, that's some deep belief, and the KKK and the Tea Party, lol. I'm just messin', I like tea, although I really haven't been to one of their parties. What is a belief and why is it so important that others believe as we do?

Oh, I know your mind is stirring with prolific theological and philosophical rhetoric and even absolute answers. Probably just as absolute as Rev. Harold Camping about today's End of Days. First of all Mr. Camping, I mean Reverend, if you knew that the world was coming to an end and you had an audience and means to prepare a people (your radio show), why did you only give us a 2 week warning? I mean granted people "so called" lived a lot longer during the times of Noah, but dude gave like a 120 years advance notice, which could have caused people to really tire of his ranting I'm sure, but he did give them a heads up. This causes me great concern for your motives sir. Why now? If I knew based on the teachings of the scriptures the devastation that could befall humanity, instead of pushing the fear and judgment propaganda, why not love? Why didn't you take the same money you used for your show, advertisement and media coverage to reach out to those that needed the message of your god's care and concern for their well being? Why not take the time, you and all those that subscribed to this message, to travel down south and uplift the spirits of those devastated by the floods? How much more hell did they need to be reminded of? Why not be the Heaven their hearts longed to see in humanity? I mean that is ultimately the premise of Jesus Christ teachings. He did say "GO...YE into all the world and preach the gospel (Good News)". It is so much easier to teach fear in the name of god because we feel justified by our rightness that everyone else who doesn't see the world through one microscopic view of this vast energy field in and out of the universe popularly known as GOD, which is another English reference. If people are scared into a relationship with a god then is it a real relationship? And "Perfect LOVE cast out ALL fear" according to your bible.

This is not about a religion or a god, but more about what we believe and how low we are willing to go, even unto death (ours or someone else's), for that belief, or high, self righteousness via the RAPTURE, an exclusive esoteric event that alienates anyone that just does not believe as you do. I once subscribed to a Christian only view and still value the teachings of Jesus, which by the way is totally an English name, not his Hebrew name. And J is an alphabet recently added in the 1600s to our alphabet. Many would give their life or take another all in a name, GD, Latin King, Vice Lord, Crip, Blood, Allah, Democrat, Republican, GOP, Tea Party, it happens in all facets of life, by those that misinterpret the point of the teachings given by those wise prophets and teachers.

Why are we afraid to ask questions? Doesn't the bible encourage us to ASK, SEEK, KNOCK. "If any man lacks wisdom let him ask of God who giveth to every man liberally and upbraideth not." Any belief that incites hatred, division, elitism and heart racing, blood boiling anger when anyone opposes or believes differently than you must be evaluated. Or at least consider the source of the outrage. I think we owe it to ourselves to start asking questions. ANY BELIEF, whether it is a religion, your beliefs about money, other people's sexuality, gender roles, politics, etc., that has you more afraid NOT to Believe than of the belief itself. Sit down and just start asking questions and WAIT not just for a language response but a response in your spirit that brings harmony without judging others in a way that you as I've heard many say, "I'm not BETTER than, I'm just BETTER off." Better is truly subjective, because you can't measure your life to anyone. This journey is personal. And learning is infinite if you remain a student of life or a child. I once read "except you be as a child you can not enter in (heaven)."

Heaven and Hell....... It seems to be a state of mind. Two people can live in one house and both have very different perspectives. I thought the other day, what if your belief in god or revelation of god is the only way in which you could receive god/it. Our experiences filter our perceptions of the world and whatever god or belief we connect to. In the Black community it is typically Big Mama's god, Jesus Christ. The end of days have been coming since man found a way to get out of actually living LOVE. So if the end is coming, all I have to do is say I believe, not actually practice my belief in my relationship with humanity and all living beings. Isn't that what a belief should do, bring out the best in you, we don't need any more reasons to disconnect. We do that as social creatures, selective connecting. It's cool we all do it. We are drawn towards people that resemble us or at least the way we see ourselves. Perhaps we need a spiritual eye test and a new way of looking at things.

It's so funny to watch how we polarize. When I went to school at U of I in Urbana, a population of over 40,000, all the Blacks assembled together magnetically without being told, and so did the Asians and the others, which is funny because we classify anyone that's not Black, White, Hispanic or Asian as others, recently those from the Middle East and India are getting more recognition, lol.

Observing the changing tide of humanity and the way we relate to each other and everything, it is more important now to take inventory of our beliefs and see if there is room for adjustment, modification or is it obsolete. We are our beliefs, a belief doesn't change you. You change because of what you believe, which is ultimately who you intrisically are; and if you are changing, so are your beliefs.

Those of us that are still here, since we know, at least I hope you know, that one day you will leave this body to rest and transition to your next state of being, whatever you call it, it's time to BELIEVE ANEW. While you are here allow what you believe about love, life and the best of humanity to transform you first and then that illumination and example will CHANGE THE WORLD.

Rev. Camping and others alike, most of us have already experienced hell, heaven is what we live for and we don't have to die to get there.
